Shoes For Show: The Sculptural Art of High Heels is a new exhibition which is being staged by Javari, the website dedicated to retailing shoes and handbags, at The Loading Bay (91 Brick Lane, E1) from 4-8 Nov. The exhibition celebrates beautiful and fantasy footwear designed and created for artistic purpose rather than function, with bespoke one-offs being lent by shoe designers and collectors alike - fashion luminaries like Christian Louboutin, Daphne Guinnes,, Natacha Fancy (who designed the heelless shoes Lady Gaga made famous) and Gareth Pugh (who made the stratospherically high heels Beyonce wore for her 'Girls' video). So you get to see shoes that capture a moment in time or represent a designer's fantasy and which have previously been hidden away in private collections or wardrobes like these beauties (left) which look good enough to eat, were designed by Christian Louboutin for the English National Ballet and have been lent by Swarovski, who supplied the crystals.
