in which The Legologist's credit card fears for its life

There is only one item The Legologist wants this winter so far on the fashion front. It is the Myrtle Heel from Bally, a Mongolian lamb's wool boot with ice pick heels. The small issue of a £995 price tag has come between us so far, but I'm hoping a more competitive brand will step up to the mark with something similar and no, flat won't cut it - the ice pick heel is key. I'd wear these with skinnies or a skirt, and if it's to be the latter I have just the solution for chilly days: Bootights. A most brilliant woman named Shelby Mason has developed leg-wear that appears to be tights above your boots but are actually socks inside them. So you get a snug fit and snug toes in one go.  Oprah has apparently gone mad for these hybrid tights-socks: "revolutionary", she calls them, "like the Spanx moment". The Legologist never had a particularly good moment in Spanx (only the Lisse brand ticks all my boxes), but she can imagine plenty of good moments in Bootights and the Myrtle heel. Perhaps I'll go along to Bally tomorrow and have a stroke ..
